Gerasimov Institute Of Cinematography,

Paolo Lettieri and UPA have been appointed by Contractor for Interior as consultant Interior Design in JV with with Studio di Acustica ing. Brugola to solve the acoustical problems and for modern aesthetic design.

In Moscow, the VGIK University, known as Gerasimov Institure of Cinematography (the oldest Cinema Academy in the world since 1919) is developing a new building for teaching the Principles and Technics of Cinema, Theatre and music within the old Campus, comprising 12 floors for different functions.

The design of main Auditorium was designed by UPA in addition to new design for 2 cinema rooms for 100 people and design for an experimental Theatre for 250 people.

UPA support the recommendations for the acoustical studies with the design and the selection of internal finishing to allow the best acoustical, functional and aesthetics solution for the main auditorium, for small cinema rooms and for didactic Theatre.

The organic shape of ceiling is developed for best possible acoustic refraction. It is built in Topakustik panels designed and engineered to create the curved effect.

The project on Auditorium, that should be used as Cinema and Theatre, is based on innovative system of acoustic revolving paneling digitally controlled to change the acoustical asset of the Auditorium from cinema to Theatre to concert hall.

Acoustic sensors allow to elaborate with dedicated software the best acoustic structure for the main hall changing the type of surface of the panel on the side walls. The panels of revolving system engineered by ing. Brugola are covered by a trevira fabric side and on the other with Topakustik panels.
