VILLA EMY
Restoration and transformation of a historic villa into a charming boutique hotel, Bisceglie, Italy
Villa Emy, nestled among palm and tamarisk trees along the Bisceglie seafront, was built in the 1930s by transforming an earlier agricultural structure and still reflects the elegance of the Art Déco era. Over time, it evolved with additions such as a first floor in the 1960s, a swimming pool in the 1980s, and later its conversion into a reception venue and cocktail bar, which altered its original interiors.
After years of neglect, a 2023 restoration by architects Paolo Lettieri and Pierluigi Pindinelli revitalized the villa as a boutique bed & breakfast. The project preserved the historic structure—vaults, walls, and openings—while introducing six guest rooms and contemporary finishes that respect the villa’s spatial identity.
Refined materials, warm neutral tones, and minimalist furnishings reinterpret the Déco spirit, while the redesigned garden, Mediterranean plantings, and renewed pool with ambient lighting restore Villa Emy’s timeless harmony between architecture and landscape.
